Lesley has been a long standing member of the guild. Lesley’s main interest is weaving with all sorts of yarn. Her main interests are using the peg loom and weaving sticks. But likes to have a go at all sorts of techniques including kumihimo and bobbin lace. She is often the one teaching members of the public to weave on our open days, she is a very good teacher. Here are some of her masterpieces….
Starting with a christmassy theme, Lesley has constructed a very effective woven Christmas tree wall hanging. An unusual but effective use for tinsel!
Our next piece is inspired by a summertime theme, Notice the detail to the right of the beach hut.
She has also made some lovely bags using these techniques.
Lesley also uses textured yarn to create scarves. Here are some examples
Thanks to Lesley for giving us permission to show her work. You can come and see work from Lesley and other members of the guild at one of our demonstration days. See our calender for next years dates.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Worstead guild!
