Members enjoyed good food and good company at their annual Christmas Dinner.
Inevitably, talk turned to all things woolly – heddles, warping, tenterhooks etc etc – and non-woolly partners either glazed over, or simply tucked into another delicious mince pie!
Merry Christmas to all our Faithful Followers.
(Don’t forget we are OPEN on Saturday 5 December 2015, 10.30 – 3, for unique handmade gifts, yarn, and craft magazines and books.)
Thanks to the foresight and hard work of Members five years ago, the Worstead Guild has its own dedicated Weavers Workshop. As well as looms, wheels, and all things woolly, we have a sizeable library of books, journals and magazines.
One cold, dark night a couple of weeks ago we rolled up our sleeves and moved the library into a room of its own. Recently re-decorated, newly-curtained and nicely heated, the library makes a pleasant working/browsing space for Members.
Librarian Elly Beatty is delighted with the “upgrade”, and with the Committee’s recommendation that she rationalise our collection and sell double-copies, knitting patterns and the like, to make space for up-to-date books. Hence the opportunity to bag yourself a bargain in the New Year.
