Dimples and Tucks – 2 April 2016

We are very lucky to have as one of our members Sue King, who is a qualified upholsterer, specialising in antique furniture.

She kindly agreed to give us a master class in the basics, and Saturday afternoon saw us immersed in webbing, coir, hessian, things wot take staples out, and things wot put staples in !

We were expertly taken through each of the steps to ensure that our padding was in the right place, that we didn’t have dimples where dimples shouldn’t be, and that our curves were smooth and our tucks even.

As with all people who possess skill and knowledge, Sue made it look easy, and her calm and methodical approach gave us confidence and sent us on our way positively looking for things to re-upholster.
