Natural Dyeing Masterclass 22-24 June

thunder & lightning, sunshine and showers, four seasons in one weekend and all the colours of the natural rainbow emerged from our outdoor dye kitchen!

A wonderful day of sharing skills and knowledge. Our volunteers spent the day with 12 new spinners showing them how to pick and prepare fleece, card, drop spin and use the wheel. We spent the afternoon in a spinning circle, exchanging stories and learning new skills.

We were thrilled to have Anne Dixon as our tutor for the five week Masterclass. Our participants came away with a wealth of knowledge and a colourful collection of sample weaves.

Dyeing with the Sun on Saturday but Sunday we got the Blues…  a day of stitching, folding, pleating, clamping and resisting.. dyeing with locally grown woad and indigo… the rain came down but didn’t dampen our enthusiasm…
